St Andrews Research Internship Scheme (StARIS)
The StARIS program offers an exciting opportunity for undergraduate students to engage in academic research. Through this initiative, students can enhance their learning experience by collaborating on research projects with university faculty members.

Student Champion for women and minoritised gendered STEM students
The University of St Andrews, in partnership with the Equate Student Network, is seeking a Student Champion to create opportunities for women and minoritised gendered students in STEM fields. This role involves connecting students with each other, STEM professionals, and potential employers.
As a Student Champion, you will collaborate with the University’s Equality, Diversity & Inclusion (EDI) Faculty Leads and other champions across Scotland, receiving support and training from the Equate Student Network. Key responsibilities include:
Facilitating at least two student events during the academic year.
Gathering student feedback on activities.
Promoting events via social media.
Supporting gender equality initiatives.
Engaging with student groups and participating in Equate Student Network discussions.
The role averages about 2 hours per week during term time, with some variation around events. Champions will work on campus and attend development events in Scotland.
Compensation includes a taxable payment of up to £375, paid in two installments, with travel costs covered for attending Equate events. Applicants must have the right to work in the UK.

The Carnegie Trust Vacation Scholarships
The Carnegie Vacation Scholarships are designed to help undergraduates develop independent research skills. Open to students enrolled in undergraduate degree programs at eligible Scottish institutions, the scholarships provide an opportunity to learn how to design, manage, and execute a research project, preparing them for potential postgraduate study. Many recipients go on to publish their research findings in academic journals or present them at conferences.
